Horsey Beach

This is a protected beach in Horsey, you can see here some people who ignore the closure and harass the seals to the point of chasing adults back into the sea. terrifying them by standing over them to take a picture. What kind of people would be so thoughtless and inconsiderate. A Little thought is all it would take...

Further news from the Swans DVD.

Another one of your Rosneath cygnets has been spotted! 3DNT seen at Castle Semple, Lochwinnoch on 29/12/09. Distance 26km.

We had orange ring 3DNA arrive at our place today, it came right up to feed with the other swans.
we had 38 mute swan this morning and 9 whoopers that didn`t hang about.

Kirstie Hemple's reply
Thanks very much for this sighting. Looking closely at your photos the ring appears to be 3DNU not 3DNA.

3DNU (metal ZZ6527) was ringed as a female cygnet (3 of 4) at Rosneath, Gare Loch on 15/10/08. This is a movement of 98km!

Interestingly, this brood were featured in a fantastic DVD made by a local film maker Robert Bell. He followed the adult pair from the nest building right through to the cygnets being ringed.

A fire caused by arson and the building was raised to the ground in minutes
